Pepperdine UniversityI attended Pepperdine University and obtained a Master of Arts in Learning Technologies. As a member of Cadre 16 I worked with both my cadre members and as an individual to navigate the curriculum in the following courses: Cognitive Tools, Design, and Action Research. The information featured in this website is a reflection of my Action Research project: FLIPPD.

Action ResearchAction research "provides a path of learning from and through one's practice by working through a series of reflective stages that facilitate the development of progressive problem solving (Bereiter & Scardamalia, 1993)." My action research project focuses on the problem of the current approach to professional development that leaves teachers unprepared for new learning models.

FLIPPDTo support my former high school I designed and implemented FLIPPD: an online curriculum designed to increase teacher effectiveness in blended learning classrooms. A reverse approach to knowledge acquisition and professional development allows schools to better prepare their staff, which in turn creates students better prepared for the future.
